Sarah Ross Design is launching a new service for commercial/corporate clients. The skills of a residential interior designer are proving increasingly beneficial in today’s hybrid work environment as the distinction between home and office becomes blurred. This lounge, in a newly refurbished office in Central London, was intentionally designed to provide a contrasting atmosphere to the office space. It serves as a dedicated area for staff to think creatively, hold informal meetings, and work away from the open plan. Studies show that embracing different environments like this can significantly enhance productivity and well-being, and help attract and retain top talent. For you and only you

The majority of Sarah Ross Design projects incorporate bespoke cabinetry. Built to fit your home perfectly, it helps you maximise every corner and accommodates even the quirkiest of requests. Made with quality materials and by skilled craftsmen, these pieces complement your design scheme, so there is none of the compromise that comes from buying off the peg. Both the cabinet and the extending dining table in this image were made for this project; the former to house the clients’ amazing collection of ice cream glasses, which are back lit at night.

Navigating Planning Permission

This drawing is taken from a Planning Application for a Listed Building. The Grade 2* Listing meant that all internal and external changes needed permission. But even if you don’t live in a Listed property, if you want to extend and need to navigate the Planning system, Sarah Ross Design can handle all of this for you; the design, the drawings and the application. The system has become more difficult to navigate over the last few years, less planning officers, more rules, less opportunity to negotiate. So having someone on your side who knows how it works and who has a realistic view of what you can achieve is more important now than ever.

What to see this month

The Decorative Fair has rightfully earned its strong reputation as the UK’s must-visit event for unique decorative objects and furniture with over 130 specialist dealers showcasing every discipline of antiques, fine and decorative art and 20th century design, dating from the 1700s to the 1970s, at a wide range of price points.
